June 3, 2025, Toronto. Congratulations to the 2025 Winners of the CRIC Insights Excellence Awards. The awards were introduced by CRIC to celebrate the greatest achievements in our industry over the past year. The winners in the four categories were announced during the Gala Awards last week as part of the CRIC Speed of Change conference. The quality of submissions was so strong and close that in 2025 runners up were recognized in two categories. In addition, the top two submissions were tied in the Business Impact category and two awards were issued for 2025. The award categories, runners up and winners are listed below.
Business Impact Award: Awarded in recognition of excellence in an insights or analytics project that results in a demonstrable business impact and/or benefit.
2025 Winner: GSK Pharma and Miix Analytics for their project: Using hybrid regression-based market mix modelling framework to transform Shingrix’s positioning in Canada
2025 Winner: Keurig Dr Pepper and Ipsos for their project: Accelerating Growth in the Ready-to-Drink Alcohol Category – Combining syndicated data with custom research to identify insights that guided decision making impacting brands, innovation and marketing.
Public or Social Service Impact Award: Awarded in recognition of excellence in an insights or analytics project that results in a demonstrable public service impact and/or benefit.
Runner Up: City of Calgary for their project: Using survey research – with support from Ipsos Public Affairs – to assess quality of life and resident priorities and to inform budgeting decisions and council focus areas overall and for nine diverse communities.
Runner Up: Diabetes Canada and Environics Research for their submission: Using research to understand the impact diabetes-related stigma has on the social experiences of individuals living with diabetes. As part of Diabetes Canada’s strategy to change the conversation around diabetes, this study was conducted to better understand the positive and negative social and psychological dynamics impacting those living with diabetes.
2025 Winner: Children of the Street and Upwords for their submission: Employing a creative, multi-phase, iterative qualitative research approach to identify barriers preventing parents from discussing online safety with children and offering actionable solutions to increasing parental engagement and help protect children from online sexual exploitation.
Excellence Behind the Scenes Award: Awarded in recognition of excellence ‘behind the scenes’, no direct client contact. The award is for outstanding efforts in areas such as technological advancements, data collection, recruiting, data processing /analysis or other related areas that enable the completion of projects.
Runner Up: CRC Research for their submission: Employing a specialized approach to support sensitive, qualitative research that sought to address online and technology-facilitated violence against gender-diverse communities in Canada for the Canadian Women’s Foundation.
2025 Winner: Pivotal Research for their submission: Supporting cross-generational focus groups in English and Russian, with parents and their offspring discussing complex and sensitive topics in support of the European Research Council funded MoveMeRu research project.
The Innovation and Advancement in Marketing Insights and Analytics Award: Is awarded in recognition of an initiative that showcases new techniques or tools, or uses tools and techniques in a novel way, paving the way for a new direction for insights and analytics work in the future.
2025 Winner: Destination Canada and Ipsos for their project: An advanced traveler segmentation program that enabled destinations of all types to identify, prioritize, and engage their target travelers with precision and help Destination Canada achieve its goal of increasing annual tourism to $160 billion by 2030.
